We meet at the Witfontein Parking Area at the Witfontein Fire Base and Outeniqua Nature Reserve Offices - on the way to the Montagu Pass. After a friendly welcome and easy Induction & Safety briefing and demonstration prior to being kitted out with all necessary riding gear i.e. helmets and goggles, we depart and negotiate the world famous historical Montagu Pass (1848) . With many serpentine curves this magnificent pass gradually winds its way through the fynbos-covered Cradock's Kloof , until it reaches the summit. Travelling along this fascinating route, with its natural scenery, is an unforgettable experience.

We leave the Pass and do a quick stopover at the best (and only) shop in the quaint little farm village of Herold . From here we take in more beautiful scenery as we wind our way through the Paardepoort gorge . Coming out of the gorge we should, weather permitting, see the Kamanassie- and Swartberg Mountain Ranges all the way to Oudtshoorn. We pass tranquil Karoo Farms and watch the hundreds of Ostriches scatter as we ride by. We cross our first low-water bridge at Rooiberg (water-crossing after heavy rains) and do two more on our last stretch towards our destination.

Arriving at Oudtshoorn we are transported to a venue of your choice within this special town with its wide open spaces and broad streets and capital of the Klein Karoo. If time permits we can arrange for you to visit one of the many world famous attractions ( Kango Caves, Kango Wildlife Ranch, Ostrich Farm, Meerkat Magic, etc) at your own cost before we head back after lunch or the activity.

We back-track the same route, but this time we see the beautiful colours as the setting sun-rays light up the Outeniquas . The view from the top of the Montagu Pass should be unforgettable and sure to take your breath away.
